Calligraphy by Riz Mateen (Surah Al-Hashr)

This calligraphic piece is from Surah Al-Hashr, it reads:

He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

(Al Qur'an, 59:24)

The piece is written in the exquisite Diwani Jali script, a cursive style of writing used in the Ottoman diwans (Royal Courts) in the 17th century and later.
