I always liked writing since I was young, hence ELEVEN had already piqued my interest. I was shy to contribute at first, because I didn't know what the process was like, so after being a part of 13th ELEVEN, I gained more insight and confidence on how it works, leading me to send my first piece. Now, I send pieces to support the adhoc while also finding a safe space to share my thoughts/writings. I still have doubts on what to share to ELEVEN. I only contribute poetry pieces because of how vague I can be and that the meaning behind the piece is up to many interpretations. I also like how the themes are usually a general theme that can cover many different aspects and interpretation. I don't really know if I ever wrote according to the theme actually but its nice that my writings were never rejected. Overall, the editors of my pieces were really great and friendly, and I love the companion post that comes with it.

Contributing for ELEVEN has been a fulfilling journey. I've constantly discovered more about myself through the various themes from each term and developed as a writer through the process too! I think as a university publication, ELEVEN has maintained a pretty high standard with detailed instructions and guides to help contributors and a platform that could just as easily be appreciated as a professional platform too. I'd highly recommend any budding or experienced creative (especially in the Muslim community) to join this wonderful and welcoming space.

meet-the contributors
In recent terms, the committee comes together to conduct a Meet-the-Contributors (MTC) session. In this event, we invite members of the community to showcase our term's theme, engage them in a thought-provoking discussion with regards to the theme, and invite them to contribute. If you're still unsure whether you want to contribute, do look out for this event!
